The Development of Composite of Servant Leadership of Basic School Administrators

Abstract

       The research objectives were to develop composite indices of servant leadership for basic school administrators and to examine the goodness-of-fi of the developed measurement model with empirical data. Data were collected from 17 experts and 720 basic school administrators from the country’s four regions. The study employed questionnaire as a data collection tool, SPSS computer software for the analysis of basic statistics and LISREL program for confimatory factor analysis (CFA). The CFA results found the servant leadership for basic school administrators comprised 60 single indices. The composite indices covered 4 dimensions consisting of 15 self-leading indices, 15 team leading indices, 15 organization leading indices, and 15 process indices. The second-order CFA for goodness-of-fi examination of the model found that the model was congruent with the empirical data (?2 = 24.93, df = 28, p = 0.63, GFI = .099, AGFI = 0.98, RMR = 0.00). The factor weights of all single indices were positive ranging from 0.53 - 0.85. Sub-factor weights with positive values ranged from 0.82-0.92. The four main factor weights were measured positive in descending order as organization leading (1.00), team leading (0.97), process (0.94), and self-leading (0.92).
